Indiana's Youth Running Collective
Competitive athletes don't need a push. They need an environment built for what they're chasing.

Meet the Coach
Built from Indiana Roots
RM Distance Collective was founded on a simple belief: Indiana's young runners deserve more than a generic training app. They deserve a coach who knows this state's courses, its competition, and what it takes to develop athletes from middle school through signing day.
Coach Roeder has spent 15 years and over 1,200 athletes figuring out what actually works. Every plan he builds starts with your athlete, not a template.
Meet the Coach
Coach Justin Roeder
Justin Roeder grew up running in Indiana. Same courses. Same programs. Same conditions your athlete is training in right now. He won the IHSAA State Cross Country meet in 2004, went on to run at Butler University, and spent three years competing professionally in triathlon. He has been on both sides of this and that shapes how he coaches.
At Butler he earned five Horizon League Championships, qualified for NCAAs twice, and was part of 14 straight Horizon League Cross Country Championship teams. After college he trained with USA Triathlon's Olympic Development Program in Colorado Springs and Chula Vista and competed professionally from 2012 to 2015. He then took everything he learned and put it into coaching. Fifteen years and over 1,200 distance runners later, here we are.
Coaching Philosophy
"Every athlete is unique and has different needs, regardless of whether the end result is the same. It is my job to connect with athletes, learn their strengths and weaknesses, and develop them according to their own timeline and not others, with their goals always in mind."

Coaching Process
How It Works: Getting Started
Inquire
Tell us about your athlete. Where they are, where they want to go, what has worked and what has not. The more you share upfront, the faster we can get to work.
Contact & Registration
We reach out your way and help you figure out which program fits. Once you decide, registration is simple. Payment comes after, by invoice. No pressure, no obligation to inquire.
Construction
As soon as you sign up for 1:1 coaching, Coach Roeder gets to work. Your first schedule is built around your athlete specifically. Their event, their history, their goals. No templates. No shortcuts.
Train, Adapt, Race, Repeat
You get your schedule sent through TrainingPeaks and you get after it. When things shift, we adjust. When the season ends, we evaluate and build toward the next one. This is not a one-and-done plan. It is coaching.
A training plan without a coach is just a document. We build the plan and stay in it with you the whole way.

Beyond the Plan
Training takes care of the miles. These sessions take care of everything else.
NCAA Recruiting Guidance
Recruiting does not have to feel like a mystery. We look at your timeline, your race history, your academics, and your goals, then build a real plan with real next steps. No generic email blasts. No guesswork.
Available virtually to athletes anywhere in the US
Inquire About RecruitingSTRENGTH & MOBILITY
Running breaks you down if you let it. Strength and mobility work is what keeps athletes healthy and on the track. These sessions are built for runners, delivered virtually, and designed to hold up through a full season of training.
Virtual. Available anywhere.
Add Strength & MobilityConsulting & Assessment
Sometimes you just need answers. Form assessment, race strategy, season planning, or a conversation with Coach Roeder about where to go next. One session or as many as you need.

Strength & Mobility,
Built for Runners
Most running programs leave strength and mobility out entirely. It is the missing piece that keeps athletes healthy, resilient, and improving all season long. This is real programming built for distance runners, not generic gym work.
Run it as a standalone program — or it is included in every 1:1 Coaching package.
What Your Athlete Gets
- Personalized strength and mobility programming built specifically for distance runners — not generic gym workouts
- Two strength sessions and two mobility sets per week, designed to fit around their school training schedule
- Video demonstrations for every single exercise so they always know exactly what to do and how to do it
- Programming that coach adjusts based on their race calendar and training load throughout the season
- Direct access to their coach through an app to check in, ask questions, and track progress
Why It Works
- Built on the same methodology used to train Olympians and professional endurance athletes
- Designed to complement, not compete with, their school coach's training plan
- Reduces injury risk by addressing the mobility and strength gaps most school programs completely ignore
- Helps athletes show up to practice stronger, more resilient, and ready to perform
Why Most Runners Miss This
- The vast majority of middle and high school running programs offer zero dedicated strength or mobility work
- Ignoring strength and mobility is one of the fastest ways to get injured and leave performance gains on the table
- This is the missing piece that separates good runners from great ones
What Makes This Different
- Coached by an NCAA coach, state champion, and former professional triathlete with elite endurance experience
- 100% virtual — athletes can train anywhere, anytime, on their own schedule
- Custom to each individual athlete, not a one-size-fits-all program
- Delivered through a proven platform used by world-class endurance athletes
A Unique Differentiator
NCAA Recruiting Guidance
Most coaching services stop at training. We go further. Coach Roeder spent 8 years coaching at the NCAA level. He knows how college coaches think, what they look for, and how to get your athlete in front of the right programs.
Sorting out D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCO so your family knows what actually fits
Building a real recruiting profile and knowing how to reach out to coaches the right way
Knowing when to start, when to reach out, and when to visit
NCAA Clearinghouse, GPA requirements, and test score timelines
Walking you through the whole process, from first contact to signing day
Summer Group Training
Now Enrolling
Summer training is where cross country seasons are built. June and July are the most important months of the off-season and this is when we get after it together. Spots are limited and group training only happens twice a year, so do not wait.
